Search Hyrum Court Records

Hyrum court records start at the city's municipal justice court, which handles local traffic tickets, infractions, ordinance violations, many misdemeanors, and small claims. Utah runs no separate Hyrum search form. Instead, a docket search taps the statewide case history and public calendar tools that cover every justice court in Cache County. Felonies and larger civil cases live elsewhere, in the district court that sits in Logan. Your best key is the case or citation number. No number? A name, plus court scope, location, and date, will narrow things down. Confirm with current court instructions where to appear or pay.

Hyrum Search Fields Work Together

One broad name search rarely pinpoints a Hyrum case. Combine fields instead. Pick Justice Court, select Hyrum where the location filter offers it, then add a case type or date range. Paper from First District Court? Switch the scope to District Court and Logan. Put a business name in the company field, and spell personal names exactly as the clerk recorded them. The official XChange help allows limited wildcards, though a sweep too wide can hit the 500-result cap.

Check the result row before opening anything. Confirm the court, location, case number, filing date, case type, and party role. A party code describes a role, never an outcome. Inside the case, read from the first filing through the newest setting, order, judgment, payment, or disposition. If Hyrum drops out of a filter, resist inventing a local portal. Run both statewide scopes and lean on the current directory.

Hyrum Court Docket Searches

Start with the official Utah Courts XChange portal, the primary channel for Hyrum court records. Choose Justice Court and Hyrum. Do that when the citation, notice, or case type points to the municipal court. A felony belongs under District Court and Logan. So does a Class A misdemeanor, general civil suit, domestic case, probate matter, or district filing. Picking the wrong jurisdiction can return an empty list, but a public Hyrum record may still exist.

Enter the exact case number when you have it. Utah's help publishes no fixed Hyrum number pattern. Copy every character from the citation or notice. A name search accepts last name or company, first-name letters, case type, scope, citation number, and dates. Because XChange caps results at 500, location and type filters earn their keep.

  1. Select Justice Court or District Court from the source paper.
  2. Enter the exact case or citation number when available.
  3. Narrow by Hyrum location, case type, and date.
  4. Open the match and read the full history.
  5. Compare the latest setting with the calendar and call the current court if details conflict.

Hyrum Has No Separate Docket Portal

Hyrum keeps no standalone docket portal of its own. That does not lock away Hyrum court records. Utah supplies XChange for public case history, the Utah Courts calendar for settings, and ePayment for supported citations. When a state tool fails to resolve the case, the official directory and the court itself are the fallback.

Best route: Start with the case or citation number in XChange, check Hyrum in the calendar, then use the current court contact.

A courthouse terminal offers free public XChange access. Need a public document that lacks an image? File the Utah Courts record request. A missing city form is a routing issue, not evidence that a case is private.

Inside the Hyrum Municipal Court

Hyrum holds an official municipal justice-court seat in Utah's First Judicial District. The official biography of Judge Paul K. Larsen records his appointment as Hyrum City Municipal Justice Court judge in 2012. He came to the bench after service in other municipal assignments. A justice court is a limited-jurisdiction Utah trial court run locally.

The Hyrum criminal docket covers traffic citations, infractions, and ordinances. It also takes most Class B and C misdemeanors and eligible small claims. Not every case tied to Hyrum lands here. Felonies stay in First District Court in Logan. So do Class A misdemeanors, general civil matters, domestic relations, and probate.

Official Hyrum materials list 60 W Main. That address serves as the civic and justice-court facility for the city. The clerk publishes no confirmed hours or direct phone number. Before visiting, check current state or city instructions.

Hyrum and Logan Courts Compared

The court field matters more than the city name. A Hyrum police citation can open in the city justice docket, while a felony from the same arrest heads to First District Court. Small claims turn on jurisdiction plus Cache County's unusual district exception, since the county runs no county justice court. Same city, different courts.

When unsure, search both scopes and compare number, location, and type. The judicial district map confirms Cache belongs to the First District.

Finding Hyrum Court Dates

The Utah Courts calendar lists Hyrum among its justice locations. Search by case number first. Other controls take a party, judge, attorney, date, location, and court type, and a result may show date, time, court, location, judge, courtroom, setting type, and attendance mode.

  1. Choose Justice Court and Hyrum for a municipal matter.
  2. Enter the case number or narrow other fields.
  3. Read the setting label and attendance mode.
  4. Compare case details with the newest XChange event.
  5. Contact the court if a notice and online date differ.

Old dates linger in the docket after a reset. Hunt for the newest setting, not the older event. Calendars refresh on weekdays at about 5:30 a.m., yet a later order or clerk confirmation can still control.

Hyrum Setting Labels Need Context

A setting label names a step, not a result. Arraignment covers the charge and the plea process. Pretrial handles case management or negotiation, and sentencing follows a conviction or plea. An order to show cause asks a party to explain compliance, so read the exact Hyrum label alongside the related docket entries.

Setting
A scheduled court event.
Reset
An entry moving a prior hearing.
Disposition
The recorded outcome of a case or charge.
Plea
The formal response in a criminal or traffic matter.

A remote label may carry a Webex link. If none appears, contact the court, since remote access never permits recording, photographing, or transmitting the hearing.

Hyrum Traffic Ticket Lookups

Start with the ticket itself. A Hyrum citation lists the court, the case or citation number, the alleged violation, and the date your response is due. Plug that number into XChange and set the scope to Justice Court, then glance at the calendar to confirm any appearance. Where the court participates, the Utah Courts ePayment service lets you search by case or citation. You can pay a Hyrum traffic ticket there.

Citation numberEnter all letters and digits.
CourtVerify the expected Hyrum court.
Name and caseConfirm before payment.
BalanceRead with the docket and any added fees.
AppearanceThe citation controls whether one is required.

Not every Hyrum ticket can go through ePayment, though. If the system rejects it, stop there. Follow the directions on your mail notice, at the counter, or for a court appearance. One caution: paying a Hyrum citation counts as a plea. If you want to contest the charge, payment is the wrong move.

Lost Hyrum Citations Need Tracing

Lost the ticket? Call the agency that wrote it, then the court currently handling it. Guessing a number from the city name will steer you wrong. Any of several agencies could have written it. Utah Highway Patrol, the sheriff, and municipal police all issue citations. A name search in XChange with Hyrum works as a backup. If the deadline slipped by, move fast. Utah warns that not responding can trigger a warrant or license consequences. Scan the docket history for a warrant, fee, reset, or disposition. Then ask the court how to proceed. Staff cannot tell you which plea to enter. Note: A blank ePayment result does not cancel the deadline printed on a Hyrum citation.

How Hyrum Cases Reach the County

Docket flow: Hyrum Municipal Justice Court › First District Court in Cache County › Utah appellate courts when authorized.

A justice case can climb to district court two ways: appeal or trial de novo. Expect a new case number there. Read the Hyrum record first for an appeal, transfer, transcript, or order. Then run a District Court search with the fresh identifier. First District also starts cases itself. Jurisdiction puts them there from day one. It handles felonies, Class A misdemeanors, general civil, domestic, and probate matters in Logan. When a path crosses levels, the Cache County docket search page explains the fields.

Hyrum Entries and Documents Differ

Three layers, one distinction. A Hyrum docket entry is just a dated index line. The filed document holds the actual text, and a certified copy adds the court's authentication. Through XChange, eligible public images cost $1 per document no matter the page count. Yet not every docket line has an image attached.

So ask for the exact order or filing by name. A case summary is not a certified record. When the Hyrum history points to a document, the Cache County court case records page walks through requests.

Who Can See Hyrum Court Records

Access to Hyrum court records rests on two rules. UCJA 4-202.02 treats records as public unless a rule classifies them otherwise, while Rule 4-202.03 opens public records to anyone and demands specific authority before nonpublic material is released.

Not every case will surface, though. Sealed, expunged, juvenile, and private records stay out of the ordinary public Hyrum docket, and a case that is missing may simply be old, misspelled, too new, or outside the scope of a given docket search. A blank result proves nothing about privacy or existence.

Nonpublic access: UCJA 4-202.04 provides a motion or petition path for a requester without automatic authority.

A calendar search cannot slip past a restriction. Use the lawful court process, and bring authorization when the court requires it.

Older Hyrum Court Records

Electronic coverage is uneven. Logan District CORIS records reach back to August 18, 1997. Each justice court converted on its own schedule. For an older Hyrum matter, you may need the city court, First District after a transfer, or the Utah State Archives. Search both likely scopes before filing an archive request. Fiscal 2017 statistics put Hyrum City Justice Court at 764 filings. That is history. It is not a 2026 workload or a sign of processing speed or case status. Old names never replace the current directory. When you request, supply the former court name, the approximate year, the case number, the parties as filed, and the item you want. Those facts tell staff a Hyrum file's status. It may sit in electronic form, on paper, transferred, archived, or restricted.
